I was very honoured to have been asked to teach in Portugal this November - but this of course was cancelled due to Covid. So this meeting has now gone online into Zoom. This means that it can now be open to people around the world!
Music will be taught by ear - but will also be emailed out before the event so that it can be printed for use in the workshop. You can download the complete PDF here.

Saturday 28th November
The Zoom meeting will open 15 minutes before each workshop to get sound and video working.
10:00-12:00 Beginners workshop
This is aimed at people who have not been playing long. We will play some basic tunes, some may be familiar and some not. We will look at bowing, posture and early technique. The tune list is now ready. It will be taught by ear - if you'd like to print them out before the workshop to have it to look:

14:00-16:00 Intermediate (Medium Level) workshop
This workshop is aimed at people who have been playing a little longer. Again some familiar tunes to help with aspects of technique and some not so familiar ones. We will look at more complicated and faster bowing. The tune list is now ready. It will be taught by ear - if you'd like to print them out before the workshop to have it to look:

17:00-18:00+ Conference/Dialogue - sharing experiences
During this session we will be discussing the experiences of learning the nyckelharpa in the UK and in Portugal. It is open for all participants to ask questions and share experiences.
Sunday 29th November
10:00-12:00 - Mixed Ability workshop
This is a general workshops for all abilities and will focus on creating a shared repertoire of tunes for people around the world! We will go through and play tunes found in the UK at nyckelharpa sessions. We will start from easy and see how far we get. We will invite Jonny Dyer in to play along with us to get a real session feel.
